A Message from the President

Hello Members & Friends,

Now that the holiday season has come to an end, AMTA-IL is excited to invite you to indulge in our 2019 Annual Meeting and State Conference!  This year, the conference will be held March 22-24th in Champaign, IL at the I-Hotel & Conference Center, located on the campus of the University of Illinois.  We have planned some spectacular educational opportunities for you along with some fabulous presenters to facilitate your journey. Please take some time to review the schedule on our website at http://il.wp.amtamassage.org/illinois-annual-conference and secure your registration before the super early bird pricing ends on January 20, 2019.  If you miss this date, don’t fret. Early bird pricing is awesome as well and runs through March 10, 2019.

If you are a student, don’t miss the opportunity to attend Student Day!  It has been a massive success since its inception in 2014. It is filled with information from state and national organizations, a panel discussion, lunch, swag and much more.  A day or overnight trip would make a great learning and educational option for you and/or your school.

For the third year in a row, the Board of Directors has voted not to increase conference pricing in hopes that it would fit into your budgets.  Although sometimes difficult, our decisions are always made with the member in mind. We encourage you to take advantage of this offer and look forward to welcoming you to Champaign.  For those of you traveling from the Chicago area and Southern IL, Amtrak offers several trips per day to Champaign and the I Hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to and from the bus/train station and Willard Airport.

AMTA-IL also has positions available in the upcoming chapter election.  Applicant information is available in this issue of In Touch along with access to the applications.  Please consider running for one of the three following positions that are up for election this cycle:  Board Member, Financial Administrator, and Delegate. We also ask that you participate in the voting process when you receive your ballot via email.  

As your President, I would like to thank you once again for giving me the opportunity to care for your best interests as it pertains to the profession of massage therapy.  The journey has been well worthwhile and I am stronger because of it. The Board of Directors, Committee Chairs and Committee Members are continuously working on your behalf to provide you with comprehensive care around the clock.  Because the work is never done, we are always in need of volunteers. Please go to the website http://il.wp.amtamassage.org/join-a-committee and complete the join a committee form if you have time to donate to the Chapter.
