The Education Report

Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.

-Chinese Proverb

Hello, Illinois and beyond! It is in this spirit of believing that learning is indeed a treasure, that I send out greetings this summer. I agreed to become AMTA Illinois Chapter’s Chair of Education this past spring, and have enjoyed several months of planning and collaborating with the AMTA BOD – a dedicated and really terrific group of professionals. Celia Bucci and team pulled off another fantastic Spring Conference in Chicago, and now our task is to bring continuing education opportunities down and around the state.

Hopefully at this point you are all getting emails announcing the wonderful line up of CEU’s we have this year.

Just around the corner . . .

Doug Nelson’s PNMT for the Hip and Precision Kinematics.

August 1 & 2, 2015 Parkland College – Champaign, IL

Native son Doug Nelson offers more of his expert guidance with precise and thoughtful methods in these workshops. These are 2 separate courses being offered on the same weekend for your convenience. Sign up for one, or both. Class is filling, but spots are still available.

As fall settles in . . .

Kinesio Taping – Levels I & II with Clem Carder

September 19 & 20, 2015 Hyatt Place Hotel – Downtown Champaign, IL

Kinesio Taping has made solid inroads with therapy for over 30 years. This weekend workshop is in conjunction with Kinesio Taping Association International.

Founder and developer Dr. Kenzo Kase, has worked and educated around the globe, including professional athletic teams and Olympic events. By all means, read more about the method! This will be an excellent workshop to incorporate a gentle and highly effective method to your massage offerings.

And to round out the year . . .

Intro to Zero Balancing with Jennifer Grace Allen

November 7, 2015 Elgin Community College – Elgin, IL

Never tried a ZB session? Curious about what this modality has to offer? I can personally attest to a truly wonderful sense of peace and wholeness after my ZB sessions, and am excited to be supporting this workshop. Jennifer is both a very grounded, very passionate practitioner and teacher. It’s guaranteed to be a day of quality continuing education.
